Salted Caramel Twix Carmelitas
Ingredients:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup old-fashioned oats
- 3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup salted caramel sauce
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 10-12 Twix bars, chopped
- Sea salt, for sprinkling
Instructions:
Warm the oven up to 350F 175C and grease a 9x9-inch baking pan
Melt the butter and add the brown sugar and vanilla extract to a bowl
Put in the salt, baking soda, flour, and oats
Mix the ingredients together until they are well mixed
Spread out half of the oat mixture in the bottom of the baking pan that has been prepared
After the oven is hot, bake the crust for about 10 minutes, or until the edges are just starting to turn golden
Take the crust out of the oven and spread the chopped Twix bars out evenly on top
Pour the salted caramel sauce on top of the Twix layer
Evenly spread the chocolate chips on top of the caramel
As the last layer, crumble the rest of the oat mixture on top
Use a spatula to lightly press down on the layers to make them a little closer together
Add a pinch of sea salt on top to make it taste better
For another 20 to 25 minutes, or until the top is golden brown, bake the bars
Before cutting into squares, take it out of the oven and let it cool all the way in the pan
